A Midwestern College Student Shares Fond Memories
Dave “PUPPY” Reedman is unable to attend the 2007 reunion in Washington, D.C. He sent Lou Aronica an email sharing memories of his years at Midwestern College.
Lou;
I’m unable to attend the reunion but wanted to share my memories of Midwestern College. It would also be nice to remember those who have passed on. I remember Bruce Edgerly was on the basketball team and drove players to games out of town. His Mustang hit the bridge abutment and a player named Marvin Langston died in that accident.on their way back from Sioux City.
I can also recall cramming for finals and going to Cronks cafe in the early morning hours for coffee.
I remember driving out to start my last year in the fall of 1969 with Linda Naab and Arnold Rawitz. That year I had a new 1970 GTO and we were driving on the Pennsylvania Turnpike when we came upon Skip Chernoff in his 1969 Dodge Super Bee with Alan Skulsky. We decided to stay together to drive out and Skip had this idea that he would drive beside me all the way. So we drove like this for hours with Skip moving about a car length ahead of me and then pulling back about a car length. It was very distracting so I guess it was on the Illinois toll road where we made a turn outside of Davenport somewhere and about a half mile from the turn I dropped down to third gear and left Skip trying to catch us, from then on he followed us.
I lived in the Denison House my first year and my roommate was Bob Stuhr, did you come across that name in your search. Well we had the last room on the third floor in the back and behind us was a wing with two floors. We would always have water fights with this guy named Biff and his roommate. Being on the upper floor we usually won as we were above and could shoot the water across or use balloons full of water. Well this one time Biff got pissed off and totaled our room using the fire extinguisher. It was a good thing the building never caught fire. The Denison House was a real trip but nice because you were in town and you had the hangout in the basement and everyone had names like Mouse, Chicago, Beach Ball, Savage, Rabbit, Super, Dirty Ed and mine was Puppy.
I can remember the Wishbone, The Rendezvous, Bellucci’s Pizza House (my hangout), The Candy Kitchen, The Movie House (ushered there), Cletes, The Band doing Sgt Pepper as I remember, N. John’s, Dog and Suds, bowling alley, and maybe Lou Aronica in a 1967 Nova for some reason comes to mind. I will try to find my yearbooks and see what else I can find and relay it to you.

Call for Photos & Video
Through the years we’ve all had photographs which never found a way to the album they were meant for. Hopefully yours made it through the packing and unlabelled boxes that comes with moving. Possibly they survived the hundred year flood and you know where they are. It makes no matter if some were folded over, are faded or worn, dig them out. Show them off to your friends and family, scan them to the best quality and contact us for email instructions.
Please do not send original photographs or documents to us. Only send email attachments of photos or documents which you have scanned as HIGH resolution (.jpeg), or (.pdf) files.
You may have home movies in either the 8mm or 16mm format. We are very interested in receiving copies of film which you may have converted and saved to DVD or digital file format. Please contact us should you discover old films of the College or Denison.
