The Midwestern College singing group, the Yeomen were a favorite among students of the school. Listen to the magic of guitar strings strummed to the sound of acoustic folk music. Whether it’s blue grass or rolled grass the joint will surely rock as 1966 comes alive. Try holding still while listening to tenor harmonies which invite a sing-along that doesn’t stop when the applause begins… The songs were originally recorded on reel to reel tape surviving more than 40 years bringing back fond memories of dance parties in the Denison House basement. Later when the Administration Building was completed they were moved to the Student Union which had better sound equipment. Here are three wonderful tunes that will leave you searching your old vinyl collection looking for a reason to uncork that special bottle of wine you’ve been saving. The beat does go on.
